Katerina Torp

About Katerina:

Katerina Torp is originally a Finnish dance artist and choreographer with an international career in ballet, contemporary dance and performance. She is a graduate of the Finnish National Opera Ballet School and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and her artistic repertoire spans ballet classics, contemporary dance works, operettas, live concerts, music videos, club nights and art films.

In addition to her work as a performer, Katerina is known as an innovative and curious choreographer. She is driven by wild fantasies and she brings them alive. She has created works for orchestras, large-scale public events, brands, shopping malls, and theater stages. Through her work, she sees dance as a way to share emotions, stories, and bring people together.

As a teacher she is interested in explaining and engaging the logic of the body and movement. She focuses on clarity of the movements, musicality and dynamics. Her classes are physical and fun. Dancing with her is technical and nerdy, but also wild and fantastic.
