Authentic Jazz is a term used to describe various dance styles that emerged during the jazz and swing era. With its roots in African-American culture, this style is characterised by its focus on rhythms, stomping, tapping, isolations and other movements reminiscent of traditional African dances. The footwork of Jazz dance is linked to the rhythmic complexities and syncopated beats of jazz music. Like jazz music, Authentic Jazz encourages improvisation, creativity and play.

This workshop is open to all, regardless of the level of dance experience. No previous knowledge is required.
