Definition:

K.R.U.M.P. (acronym: Kingdom radically uplifted mighty praise) is an energetic and expressive Afro-American street dance derived from Hip Hop Clown dance in the late 90s. Krump is characterized through its texturized movements contrasting roughness and flow as well as its expressive way of storytelling, release and expression.

The class centers the building of foundations and basics of krump and individualizing krump for oneself, finding context to your own essence of it and connection to it.

Alongside the technical aspect, we are going to delve into the cultural aspect of krump as well. Connecting technicality with history and culture is an important part of deeper understanding of the style.

Furthermore we are going to explore the idea of raw expressions of emotions through abstract movements and experience the concept of those traditions through practical implementation in class.

Krumpers share emotions and experiences with each other at sessions to create an environment of support and exchange. Krump can be many things, it is an expression mastered into a dance.
