Shared Balance – Contact Impro and Partner Work

What you get:

In this class, we explore the principles of Contact Improvisation and gradually move toward structured partnering work. We work with weight, gravity, friction, rolling points, and shared balance as tools for efficient and dynamic movement.

These principles become fundamental tools for listening to our own bodies and to the bodies of others. Through touch, timing, and mutual support, we cultivate presence, responsiveness, and the ability to make decisions in the moment.

Starting from subtle points of contact, we progressively expand into larger dynamics, acrobatic pathways, and partnering sequences that integrate these principles. A shared commitment to fostering a safe space, alongside the exploration of physical complexity, remains at the core of the practice throughout.

About us:

Alina Bertha and Elda Gallo are two Vienna-based artists who have been collaborating since 2023. In both Elda’s creation “2070” and Alina’s ongoing project “Subversive Bodies”, they explore partnering and contact as tools for creation.
